Family Portfolio Tracker ("the app") is a personal tool for tracking a household's investments. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
Your data is used solely to provide the app: to store your portfolio, calculate its value and returns, and sync it across your own devices and to household members you explicitly invite. It is never sold, rented, or used for advertising or profiling.
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication) on Google Cloud infrastructure. Google acts as our data processor. See Firebase's privacy information.
Current prices and NAVs are fetched directly by your device from public sources (Yahoo Finance for stocks; the AMFI daily NAV file for mutual funds). Only the instrument symbol / scheme code is sent in those requests — never your holdings, quantities, or any personal information.
Only you and the household members you invite. Each member has a role (Owner, Admin, Editor, or Viewer) that the household owner controls. Nobody outside your household — and no other user of the app — can see your data. The developer does not access individual users' portfolio data.
Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → "Delete my account & data". This removes your login and your portfolio data immediately and permanently; if you are the sole owner of a household, the entire household (all holdings, transactions, members and price history) is deleted. The app is not directed to children and is intended for adults managing household finances.
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change and the new version will be published at this URL.
